Joust for Thursday Labs
When a potential client tells me, "I'm not a game person", my ears perk up because now I have something to prove.
I've known that Jake Hurwitz is not a game person for a while now. But he wanted to take a chance on Joust for his company's NYC meetup.
A lot was at stake:
1. First time that many of the Thursday Labs team were going to meet in person. (Turns out Jake is taller than expected, and I'm shorter than expected!)
2. First time many of HIS clients and partners were going to meet HIM.
3. It was the launch of Thursday Labs' coffee table book - capturing nuggets of wisdom from 1,000 podcast episodes.
4. It was Jake's birthday, and I wanted to turn him into a game person
And thirty minutes in, I couldn't rip him away from the Codenames table if I tried.
Most people ARE gamers. They just need the right conditions (moody lighting, great company, etc.) to bring it out of them.
